1500 YouTube Subscribers!

Okay, so I haven't posted anything for a very long time. Where have I been? I'm still a freelancer but am now working full time on animation projects for a production company. It's all new stuff and therefore I am not able to share the details for public consumption. In any case, you can rest assured that I am happily working away on new character designs, animated series, storyboards and so on. Lots to do and lots to learn.

In the meantime, I have been happy to see that the videos on my YouTube channel have continued to attract viewers. My top video is The Story of Thanksgiving which is working its way up to 1 million views. So, hey, that's very cool! I'm still using Xara for final art and Toon Boom Harmony for animation. Also, sometime in the not too distant future I hope to switch from PC to Mac. That oughtta be fun!

I'm not accepting any new projects as my current workload is all I can handle. I still have my evenings and weekends relatively free but those times are strictly for my family and relaxing. So hopefully I will have some news to report here as time goes on but for now, "That's all folks!"

500 YouTube Subscribers!

Well, for some this may not be such a big deal, but for my little channel it is! I just hit 500 subscribers and I believe it is partially because of the surge of views that my Story of Thanksgiving animation has had over the past few days. It is now my number one video with over 35,000 views and climbing daily. For a long time my review of the Wacom 12WX tablet was my all-time highest viewed video but Thanksgiving has shot past it. It will probably continue to gain views as we near Thanksgiving so I will be curious to see how far it will go.

One funny thing about the Story of Thanksgiving is that I've gotten a couple of comments poo-pooing it saying that is not what actually happened, etc. Well, of course it's not totally factual! By the way, since when do we take the word of a rock for telling the truth?! I replied to one comment with, "I guess you just can't trust a talking rock! ;-)" In any case, I'm glad that it has become popular. I had fun making it and am glad that it is doing so well.

Magix Magazine Article

I just found this article that was posted in April on the Magix Magazine website that talks about my Zebtoonz website. I had seen this article before but it was in German so I couldn't figure out what it said until I found it in English. One quote from the article says, "...this site’s owner has got lots of interesting content to show, which makes his page unique and quirky" Ha! I never thought my design was quirky. What I was trying to do was to give the impression of my work space and tools and give it that nice at home feeling. In any case, take a look at the article and see what you think.
